About me, my competence with technology, and what I hope to learn!

I am a native of Tallahassee, Florida. I left for three years to play college football for a D2 business university, and then came back to my home town to finish my undergraduate in History. I plan on joining a masters program for law, and to eventually become an attorney. My uncle owns a law firm down in South Florida, and it has always been my plan to work my way/up in his firm. I am excited to finally be a senior at FSU, and am excited to learn new information in this education class.
My competence when in comes to technology is, I would say above average, but no where near the level of coding or script running. It has always been more of a personal interest, and my main brushes with technology has always been linked to my desire to game competitively. I do not have a twitter or Instagram, but do use Facebook for school and connection reasons.
I hope to learn more about perfecting Microsoft applications like: Word, Excel, Graphs, and PowerPoint. I would like to be able, at the end of this course, to adequately understand and utilize all available resources when it comes to the aforementioned applications. I have a fair amount of knowledge with these programs already, but I do have much room for improvement, and could greatly benefit from perfecting these programs in my later graduate career as a student. I am very skeptical of opening a Twitter, for security and social issues, but hopefully this class will teach me the proper way of protecting myself on social media.

  1. Wow!! You experience is impressive!

I am sure you will have some fun in this class because we are going to touch on a lot of different topics and explore around. Personally, I am not huge on social media but as an educator, I don't doubt its position in our learning. I am glad that you mentioned the safety issues but I don't believe that there is THE proper way to protect yourself once for all. For me, being aware of the online identify and lines are very big parts of online safety.
