I feel most comfortable with teaching the History and Social Studies literacy and competence standards outlined in the ELA guidelines. History has always been my forte. I would do well with relaying those standards and outlines to my students. The core functions outlines in the Social Studies/History concepts are disciplines that I would be strong in teaching my students, and getting them prepared for college and beyond. Standards that I would have to work on would be the Science standards and mathematics courses. The Stem courses are one that I have always had trouble with, and would require more work on my parts before I could impart valuable knowledge to my students.

CPALMS is a online workshop and toolkit that is a wealth of standardized information for Florida students and teachers. It a font of knowledge and information. It is an official source of information ordained by Florida. I would use the Social Studies toolkit and the Foreign language toolkits for both my own studies and when I would teach American History. I would use the toolkit of Histography for teaching my students to concepts of history and how it is agreed upon, created, and used.
With the Microsoft Word formatting assignment I have learned numerous new features in the program. Not only have I figured out how to incorporate more designs and templates into my newsletters and other formats, but my skills with the column functions and margins have vastly improved.  I have also learned how to format pictures into my word document with much more proficiency. The wrap function is very useful. It was an enlightening assignment that bore fruit. there were not many things that I disliked about the assignment other than the time it required to perfect it, but it was well worth the knowledge I gained in doing so.

  1. Yes, everyone has their expertise, but did you think about how various ELA standard statement are associated with history teaching? History is the target knowledge domain. ELA standards propose more specific learning objectives or the competency that students should be able to demonstrate. The standards determine the competencies, and the technology listed is simply just an example. Then the question is can you think of any technologies that can facilitate students history learning and also demonstrate their ELA competencies.
